This cake was for a 65 year old retiree who travels the world…literally. Ah, to be there someday, right? This is a 2 layer 12 inch cinnamon cake with cream cheese icing in the center, covered with buttercream icing. I figured a cake shaped like the world would be appropriate!
The 65, boat and airplane are all made out of chocolate. The letters are made out of fondant. The gray chocolate was a tricky color to make with the wafers, and the color chart I found wasn’t accurate. I ended up having to use 6 light blue, 2 light pink, 2 peanut butter, and 1 red of the chocolate wafers to make the gray color that I wanted. The amount of chocolate was a lot more than that, but that is how the ratio was broken down.
