A close friend arranged a girls’ get together, so of course I had to make a special cake for it. She left me with no choice…or, at least that’s the story and I’m stickin’ to it.
Here’s the cake, before iced. The breasts are made out of rice krispie treats for added effect of the cake. I made two 2-layer 9 inch heart shaped cakes, cut the bottoms off each one, and put them together. The top flavor is strawberry, the bottom flavor is red velvet. I took the bottom part of the red velvet cake and placed it at the top to create a neck, since I was making a pearl necklace out of fondant.
I used cream cheese icing for this cake…don’t get me wrong, the icing is absolutely delicious…but it’s too creamy and smooth for doing star decorations all over the cake. A lot of the icing ran together…but the fact that my hands are almost always hot and softening the icing in the bag certainly doesn’t help. Next time I make a cake like this, it will be with homemade buttercream icing. Next time I use cream cheese icing for this type of decorating, I’ll keep it in the refrigerator until right before I use it. The skin tone and red icing are cream cheese, the black icing is chocolate.
Here’s another shot, looking the other direction. When making the pearl necklace, I used “just a pinch” to measure out the fondant, then divided those in half. What better way to dress up lingerie than wearing a pearl necklace with it? 😉
Hey Erin! Loved the Girl’s Night Out Cake! How cute. Though I did have to explain to Elijah what the rice krispie treats were supposed to be. I guess he’s never seen a cake with boobs 😉 One question: Have you ever made a cheesecake? I’ve been thinking about making one lately and was wondering if you’ve made one.
Thanks!! The ladies seemed to really enjoy it. That’s so funny about Elijah! I haven’t made a cheesecake from scratch, but have been wanting to. That might have to be made soon though. 😉 I’ll let you know how it turns out!
amazing!!
Thanks Sarah!
